Casa Grande Taps Daniel Gallegos as New Community Services Director

Residents of Casa Grande thrive on recreation, cultural events and the great outdoors. These features help to create a better quality of life for folks that call it home. As the City economic engine continues to churn out new business growth, increased residency follows along with need for additional services and public amenities. This is where Community Services emerge. It stands as one of the largest City Departments and is tasked with providing helpful resources and engaging opportunities for families to gather and participate in common experiences. Its programs and facilities are integral in the lives of many. So, when vacancy arose, the City embarked upon a thorough search and review process to land Daniel “Danny” Gallegos as its new Community Services Director.

“The City is very pleased to welcome Danny to our organization,” said Larry Rains, Casa Grande City Manager. “His keen knowledge in Parks and Recreation will prove invaluable when implementing the new Community Services Master Plan (once adopted) and guiding the Department to even greater success.”

Gallegos is an Arizona native and has served in the Parks and Recreation field for more than 30 years. He has developed a diverse background in management of recreational and human services programs, parks, large-scale sports complexes, volunteer programs, special events and community arts programs. Raised in Flagstaff, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Leisure Services from Northern Arizona University. He has forged abundant experience with the Cities of Scottsdale, Mesa and, most recently, Maricopa – leading its Parks and Recreation Department as Deputy Director. The new leader has a sincere desire for inclusion and collaboration.

“The most important goal for success is culture,” Gallegos said. “I want to encourage ideas, openness and participation between my new team and the community we serve.”

Gallegos starts his journey with Casa Grande, September 26. To learn more about Community Services, please visit online or call (520)421-8677.
