Local residents Ted and Kelly Gremmel are sponsoring new attendance prizes for the 2024-2025 school year at AJUSD schools.
All AJUSD students are automatically enrolled in the Attendance Prize program on the first day of the school year. To qualify for a $500 prize, students must have fewer than 18 days of absences by the end of the school year. Those who meet this criterion will be entered into a random drawing for the prize.
Additionally, students who maintain perfect attendance throughout the entire 2024-2025 school year will be entered into a separate random drawing for an additional $500 prize.
Graduating seniors with fewer than 18 absences by May 22, 2025, will be eligible for a special $1,000 prize. This prize will be awarded in a random drawing exclusive to the senior class.
Winners will be announced during the AJHS Graduation Ceremony on May 22, 2025. A single student can win multiple prizes if eligible.
Ted and Kelly Gremmel hope these prizes will encourage students to attend school regularly.
"We look forward to celebrating our winners in May 2025," they said.
