Phoenix freeway closures planned for March weekend due to improvement projects

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has announced several freeway closures in the Phoenix area from March 21 to March 24, 2025. These closures are part of ongoing improvement projects.

According to ADOT, "Westbound I-10 closed between 35th and 83rd avenues from 9 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday (March 22) for pavement sealing." Additionally, the eastbound I-10 will be closed "between 83rd and 35th avenues from 9 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday (March 23) for pavement sealing."

Another closure involves the Westbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway), which will be shut down "between Loop 101 (Price Freeway) and I-10 in Tempe from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday (March 24) for a traffic shift that's part of the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project."

Further construction work is scheduled on the Northbound SR 143 (Hohokam Expressway). It will be closed "between I-10 and Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday (March 24)."
