The Florence Regional Airport has announced a partnership with BETA Technologies, an electric aerospace company from Burlington, Vermont. This collaboration involves the installation of electric charging infrastructure at the airport, marking the first of its kind in South Carolina.

BETA Technologies has provided chargers that are multimodal and interoperable. These chargers can power different types of electric aircraft and ground vehicles such as cars, vans, and trucks. At the Florence Regional Airport, a Level 3 fast-charger has been installed on the airside to primarily charge electric aircraft and support vehicles. Additionally, a two-port Level 2 charger is available in the parking lot for public use.

This development represents a significant step towards accommodating the next generation of electric aircraft and supporting sustainable transportation solutions.
