Enrollment at Stanfield Elementary District schools decreased by 3.4% compared to previous school year

There were 397 students enrolled in Stanfield Elementary District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.4% less than the 411 in the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 53.1% of them were boys, and 46.9% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were Latino, representing 68.3% of the Stanfield Elementary District total enrollment.

Stanfield Elementary District roughly covers schools within Pinal County and has a main office in Stanfield.

A 2023 study from Scholaroo.com ranked Arizona last out of all U.S. states in terms of educational success, giving the state poor marks for school quality, student success, and teacher-to-student ratio.

In 2022 Arizona had roughly one teacher for every 19 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for 16 students. Teachers handling a higher number of students was found to have negative consequences for students’ school performance.
