The Greater Florence Chamber recently hosted its Community Legislative Breakfast at the Florence Center, featuring Mayor Lethonia Barnes as the guest speaker. The event attracted over 220 civic and community leaders.
During her address, Mayor Barnes discussed several initiatives undertaken by the City of Florence. Key among these was the expanded use of new technology aimed at enhancing public safety through the City of Florence Police Department. Additionally, she highlighted the city's fire department efforts that have resulted in a top-level fire protection rating, leading to reduced insurance costs for residents. Other topics included updates on the city’s water plan and ongoing road maintenance projects.
The breakfast commenced with remarks from Gregg Robinson, CEO of Florence County Economic Development Partnership. He provided updates on the AESC project along with other economic development news relevant to Florence County.
