The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has announced several freeway closures and restrictions in the Phoenix area for the weekend of February 21-24, 2025. These measures are part of ongoing improvement projects.

A significant closure will affect northbound Interstate 17, which will be closed between Happy Valley Road and Loop 303 from Friday at 10 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m. Travelers are advised to avoid using neighborhood streets east of I-17 as they are not designed for freeway traffic. The recommended detour is via westbound Happy Valley Road, northbound Lake Pleasant Parkway, and eastbound Loop 303.

Additionally, westbound Interstate 10 will be closed between the I-17 "Split" interchange near Sky Harbor Airport and the I-17 "Stack" interchange near McDowell Road from Friday at 9 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m. Traffic approaching this closure will be detoured onto northbound I-17.

Westbound I-10 will also be narrowed to two lanes between 48th and 24th streets from Saturday at 7 p.m. until Monday at 4 a.m. due to work on the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project. Drivers should allow extra travel time and exercise caution when merging through these zones.

ADOT encourages travelers to view the Weekend Travel Advisory map in PDF format or visit their website for a complete listing of restrictions.
