The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics (GSSM) is set to host its annual event, INSIDE GSSM, on March 1. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., providing families across the state with a chance to engage in STEM activities and more.
This free event offers interactive experiences led by GSSM students, faculty, and staff. Participants can explore various subjects including robotics, rockets, artificial intelligence, foreign languages, and science and math experiments. Additional activities include making liquid nitrogen ice cream, slime-making, crepes, scavenger hunts, and student-led tours.
Irene Middleton, director of academic year programs at GSSM stated: “INSIDE GSSM serves as a powerful catalyst for inspiring young students and their families to explore the opportunities offered by GSSM and its programs.” She added that the school is dedicated to fostering curiosity in STEM fields and preparing students for future challenges.
The event aims to provide an insight into life at one of the nation's leading residential public high schools.
