The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has announced scheduled closures and lane restrictions on Phoenix-area freeways from February 14 to February 17, 2025. These restrictions are part of ongoing improvement projects in the region.
According to ADOT, southbound I-17 will be closed between Loop 303 and Happy Valley Road from 10 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. on Monday for pavement and bridge work. Travelers are advised to allow extra travel time and follow the primary detour route: west on Loop 303, south on Lake Pleasant Parkway, and east on Happy Valley Road. ADOT cautions against using streets east of I-17 that are not suitable for freeway traffic.
Westbound I-10 will be narrowed to two lanes between Elliot Road and 24th Street from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday as part of the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project. Similarly, westbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) will be reduced to one lane between Rural Road and I-10. Commuters should consider alternate routes due to potential delays.
Northbound SR 143 (Hohokam Expressway) will also be closed between I-10 and Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) near Sky Harbor Airport from Friday night at 10 p.m. until Monday morning at 4 a.m., allowing for pavement marking and lane shifts.
