The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has issued a travel advisory for the Phoenix area, detailing significant freeway closures and restrictions scheduled from February 7 to February 10, 2025. Travelers are advised to plan ahead, allow extra time for their journeys, and consult the Weekend Travel Advisory Map to avoid potential disruptions.
Key closures include the eastbound Interstate 10 between the SR 51/Loop 202 "Mini-Stack" interchange and US 60 (Superstition Freeway), which will be closed from Friday at 10 p.m. until Monday at 4 a.m. Commuters heading to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport should particularly consider this closure in their travel plans.
Additionally, northbound Interstate 17 will be closed between Loop 303 and SR 74/Carefree Highway from Friday at 10 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m. Traffic will be rerouted along the northbound I-17 frontage road system. ADOT advises against using local streets east of I-17 as they are not equipped to handle freeway traffic, and some local street closures will also be in effect.
Moreover, eastbound Loop 303 and westbound Sonoran Desert Drive traffic will not be able to pass under I-17 during this period. For more detailed information on these restrictions, travelers can view the Weekend Travel Advisory map in PDF format or visit ADOT's website.
