The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has announced the closure of the eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) off-ramp at Gilbert Road in the southeast Valley. The closure will begin at 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, and is expected to last for approximately 60 days. This measure is necessary to allow crews to reconstruct the ramp as part of the ongoing Loop 202 widening project in Chandler and Gilbert.
During this period, drivers are advised to use alternative routes by taking the eastbound Loop 202 off-ramps at Cooper or Lindsay roads while access to Gilbert Road is unavailable.
The Loop 202 Improvement Project aims to add lanes and enhance interchanges along an eight-mile stretch of Loop 202 between Loop 101 (Price Freeway) and Val Vista Drive in Chandler and Gilbert.
