FOIA Request to Pinal County Regarding Pre-Election Voting Machine Test Reports on October 30, 2024.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Pinal Today have sent a request under the Arizona Public Records Law § 39.101 et seq. The request was for records of pre-election tests conducted on voting machines in Pinal County.
The requested records are expected to provide insights into the preparedness and reliability of the voting infrastructure ahead of the upcoming elections. The information sought includes the date of testing, machine manufacturer details, machine model numbers, and the status of each machine - whether it passed or failed the test.
We believe that access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities.
