The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) will conduct its annual public auction of unclaimed property from abandoned safe deposit boxes starting April 2, 2025. The available items include jewelry, coins, currency, and a variety of collectibles that remain unclaimed by their owners.
This year's auction will take place exclusively online at www.sierraauction.com, beginning Wednesday, April 2, at noon, and concluding on Sunday, April 13, at 5 p.m. An in-person viewing of the auction items is scheduled for April 11 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sierra Auction Management, Inc., located at 4298 N. 35th Drive, Phoenix, AZ 85019.
The Arizona Department of Revenue will award the items to the highest bidders. The proceeds from the auctioned items are placed in a custodial account, where they remain available for rightful owners to claim when identified.
Unclaimed money held by ADOR primarily involves assets from these abandoned safe deposit boxes. The Unclaimed Property Unit of the department has been successful in returning millions of dollars to their rightful owners annually. In fiscal year 2024, the unit returned a record $88 million.
