Larissa Pixler, a Queen Creek resident and member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe parish, said the federal government "is not protecting the citizens" of the U.S. and has not taken control of the border.
"The federal government is not protecting the citizens of this state by refusing to control the border with Mexico," Pixler said. "Literally, we have no idea how many divisions of military-age males have entered this country illegally and what they are preparing to do to further their interests. This is in addition to the violence presented by the Mexican drug cartels and their related criminal enterprises, including the sexual slavery of children and young women."
"The drug trafficking has become so lucrative that the sophistication of the armed, combat-ready units of the cartels now represents a substantial threat to the government of Mexico and several states along the border," she said. "This is directly the result of the lack of will on the part of the Democratic Party to protect the citizens of this country and the clear intention to 'replace' voters who move to safer states to preserve the number of representatives elected to Congress. All of this is a direct result of our now 'open border.'"
Since President Joe Biden took office in 2021, there have been over 9.7 million illegal crossings into the U.S. reported by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Illegal apprehension records have been broken every year during the Biden administration, according to an April report from the Center Square. In fiscal year 2021, the 1.9 million illegal border crossings reported was a record high, the highest number in American history at that point. The record was broken in both fiscal year 2022 and again in fiscal year 2023, when 2.7 million and 3.2 million crossings were reported. None of the record crossing numbers include “gotaways,” the individuals that evaded capture or notice at the border.
Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens reported that Harris has not contacted him since his appointment in July 2023. Further, Retired Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz claims he never spoke to Harris during his entire appointment as Border Patrol Chief from August 2021 through June 2023.
Harris only made one trip to the border in June of 2021. During this trip, “federal agents on the front lines were instructed to completely sanitize the area to hide the true severity of the crisis from cameras.” Since then, Harris has never made an appearance anywhere near the Southern border.
Since March of 2021, people have been referring to Harris as the “border czar” after President Biden appointed her to oversee the Biden Administration’s efforts at our southern border.
“I’ve asked her, the VP, today, because she’s the most qualified person to do it, to lead our efforts with Mexico and the northern triangle … in stemming the migration to our southern border,” stated Biden, who sat beside Kamala Harris, both wearing masks.
Kamala Harris, the first female Vice President, has continuously struggled to keep the border crisis at bay during her term. Before being elected as Vice President, Harris served as the District Attorney of San Francisco, the Attorney General of California, and as a U.S. Senator from California.
During fiscal year 2024 to date, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has arrested 35,178 illegal aliens who have previous criminal convictions or who are wanted by law enforcement, according to an analysis by Tucson Standard.
13.828 of these arrests have been made by the U.S. Border Patrol, and 21,350 of these arrests have been made by the CBP’s Office of Field Operations. The CBP’s 2024 fiscal year runs from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024.
