There were 3,654 Latino students enrolled in Florence Unified School District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 5.8% less than the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Data showed that Florence Unified School District welcomed 8,890 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Latino students comprised 41.1% of the student body to be the second most represented ethnicity in the district.

Among the 13 schools in Florence Unified School District, Poston Butte High School recorded the highest enrollment of Latino students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 568 students.

In 2022 Arizona had roughly one teacher for every 19 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for 16 students. Teachers handling a higher number of students was found to have negative consequences for students’ school performance.
