How many students were enrolled in Ray Unified District schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 373 students enrolled in Ray Unified District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.6% less than the 387 in the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.7% of them were girls, and 49.3% were boys.

Data also showed that most of the students were Latino, representing 51.7% of the Ray Unified District total enrollment.

Ray Unified District roughly covers schools within Pinal County and has a main office in Kearny.

Among the two schools in Ray Unified District, Ray Junior Senior High School recorded the highest enrollment of 189 students in the 2022-23 school year.

A 2023 study from Scholaroo.com ranked Arizona last out of all U.S. states in terms of educational success, giving the state poor marks for school quality, student success, and teacher-to-student ratio.

In 2022 Arizona had roughly one teacher for every 19 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for 16 students. Teachers handling a higher number of students was found to have negative consequences for students’ school performance.
