Around 9:15 this morning (1/24,)  Pinal County Sheriff's Office deputies stopped a vehicle near Kenworthy Rd. and Combs Rd, in which the passenger had an active warrant.

The male passenger bailed out of the vehicle and took off running towards the Combs Middle School campus. Deputies were already in pursuit of the suspect when he trespassed onto school property by scaling an exterior fence. There was conflicting information the suspect may have been armed.

Combs Middle School staff took immediate action when noticing the suspicious activity and went into lockdown while PCSO apprehended the suspect and took him into custody.

The school remained on lockdown until the scene was cleared, which included a thorough search for firearms and other weapons. PCSO has deemed that there is no threat to the staff and students on campus, however parents are now able to pick up their students should they wish to do so.

The suspect, 33-year-old Fernando Colazo has been booked into the Pinal County Jail.
