The City of Maricopa’s fleet of vehicles has some new additions. A pair of all-electric cargo vans are now in the fold. The 2022 Ford E-transits are part of a larger push by the City to adapt to rising costs and dwindling availability of vehicles around the country.
These vehicles will be used to maintain City owned buildings around Maricopa, including City Hall, Copper Sky, Public Works, Fire and Police stations. The vans will allow crews to keep these facilities in excellent condition while creating significant savings on maintenance and gas. They can plug straight into traditional outlets for easy battery charging.
The City also has on order two Ford F-150 Crew Cab Lightnings that are all-electric as well. These trucks are not only less expensive, they’re also much more widely available and more cost effective to fuel and to maintain.
