Town Council Names Jeff Brown Queen Creek Vice Mayor

Announcement

Town of Queen Creek issued the following announcement on Jan. 21.

At its Jan. 19 meeting, the Queen Creek Town Council selected Jeff Brown to serve a one-year term as Vice Mayor. Responsibilities of the Vice Mayor include conducting meetings of the Town Council when the Mayor cannot be present and representing the views of the Mayor and the Town at official or ceremonial functions and meetings with other agencies when the Mayor is unable to attend. The Mayor nominates the Vice Mayor from among the Town Council members, and the Mayor and Town Council vote to confirm the appointment.

Vice Mayor Brown shared “we've got a great team on Town Council working diligently to keep Queen Creek truly a wonderful place to call home and I respect my colleagues immensely! To have earned their trust and vote of confidence in this appointment is deeply humbling and a supreme honor. To that end, I'll work hard over the course of the year to meet their expectations and represent the Town and the residents to the best of my ability.”

Brown was elected to the Town Council in 2008. Brown is a 2003 graduate of the Queen Creek Leadership Institute and in 2007 completed the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course. Brown and his family have lived in Queen Creek since 2002.
