Central Arizona College issued the following announcement on Nov. 2.
Central Arizona College Track and Field holds four men’s and five women’s national championships, the most recent being in 2008. Between 2010 and 2019, both the men’s and women’s teams received several runner-up trophies and did not finish less than sixth at the national championships. Central has also produced 40 Olympians as well as numerous athletes who have received their bachelor’s degrees at four year college institutions. Under the direction of new coaching and other college administration, we are trying to get CAC back in the national spotlight.
To continue to rebuild a historic Track and Field program, we are seeking donations for new equipment. Your donation will go towards replacing worn track equipment such as hurdles and weathered nets for the throwing rings. Our plans also include getting new stands to provide a better experience for visitors and fans when we host home meets. Our fundraising goal is to raise $20,000. Your donation will go towards the continued improvement of our facility and the development and recruitment of student-athletes.
If you are interested in supporting our fund raising goal, please mail your donation to the address listed below. Thanks again for your support. We look forward to seeing you at the track in the spring. Please follow us at www.vaquerosports.com.
We value your ongoing support!
