Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale metro surpass Greenville-Anderson-Mauldin in 2019

The Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale metro area exported $15.1 billion in 2019, more than exports from Greenville-Anderson-Mauldin in 2019, according to the International Trade Administration.

A study from the Brookings Institute found competition between areas within the United States increases exports, which in turn generates stronger sales and more jobs for American workers.

The Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale metro area consists of two counties.

The Greenville-Anderson-Mauldin metro area comprises four counties exporting $14.5 billion in 2019.

The metro area with the most exports was Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land with $129.7 billion exported.
