Arizona is showing signs of continued growing economic momentum, thanks to homeownership growth.
“The American dream of owning a home is alive and well in Arizona,” Gov. Doug Ducey said in an Oct. 16 release. “People continue to flock to Arizona for our growing jobs market, unbeatable quality of living and affordable housing. While many states pursue an opposite approach—higher taxes, more regulations and more burdens on regular people — we will continue to pursue policies that keep Arizona an affordable and attractive place to live.”
U.S Census Bureau data shows that the state’s quarter-over-quarter homeowner rate change in the second quarter of 2020 increased by 7.7 percentage points.
The state’s homeowner rate from the first quarter to the second quarter of 2020 soared from 64% to 71.7%. That is the fastest growth rate in the nation, according to the state.
Following Arizona is Missouri with a 7% increase, Kentucky with 6.6%, North Carolina at 5.8% and Virginia with 5.6%.
