The health department in Pima County and Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (AZDEMA) recently announced that drive-thru COVID-19 testing began on Aug. 11.
The county said it is testing areas that have had limited testing availability.
The county also said they are working with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to make the testing sites with as little person-to-person contact as possible. To see the full list, click here.
County officials strongly urge residents to pre-register to get tested. Residents can register at www.pima.gov/covid19testing. After residents find the site, they are to click on the "Schedule My Test link for Drive-thru Pop Up Testing," link. To find the closest testing site, residents should enter their zip code.
“This is an exciting development for COVID-19 testing,” Pima County Health Director Dr. Theresa Cullen said in a press release. “This unorthodox style allows us to get into communities that have not had easy or broad access to tests and get a better understanding of COVID-19 across the county.”
Test results are available at www.doineedacovid19test.com within a few days of taking the test.
