The race for the Pinal County Assessor’s Office is heating up, according to the Casa Grande Dispatch.

This election cycle, Douglas Wolf has a serious challenger in the primary. The challenger's name is Michael Cruz.

Cruz is a public information officer. He handles communications for the Casa Grande Elementary School District and has taught students career and technical education.

Additionally, Cruz has degrees in teaching and business management. 

“I have about seven years of experience working in the tax industry and being able to take that knowledge and my experience now working in public relations and in communities, it’s a perfect marriage for this role. So that’s why I’m running,” Cruz said. “I have the skillset and I’m the only candidate that has that unique blended skill set to bring it to work for the people."
