Pinal County Republican candidate for sheriff Tim Gustafson says he has evidence that Sheriff Mark Lamb has committed criminal acts.
“I have documented evidence,” Gustafson told PinalCentral of the "bribery, embezzlement, financial and insurance crimes” he accuses Sheriff Mark Lamb of having been involved in.
Gustafson, a pastor at the Word of Life church in Mesa, added he would produce that evidence at “the appropriate time,” PinalCentral reports. He has also accused Lamb of using campaign contributions for personal gain.
Gustafson, 69, also claims “credible sources” have told him Lamb is now under federal investigation, adding that he appears more concerned with his celebrity status from having frequently appeared on TV and social media since taking office than he is with leading the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.
“What he’s become is not what we expected to get from him when we voted for him,” Gustafson told PinalCentral, adding he considers himself to be a strict conservative intent on “bringing integrity back” to the office.
