Friends and supporters of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Pee Dee Area have established the Zimmerman Family Fund with contributions totaling more than $173,000. The fund was announced at the Champions for Youth Tribute event held on September 16.
Neal Zimmerman, who has served as executive director of the organization for over three decades, commented on the significance of the fund. “Words can’t do justice to what this means. It’s definitely an honor for me and my wife. Florence is a great community for Boys & Girls Clubs,” Zimmerman said.
The Zimmerman Family Fund is dedicated in memory of Nancy Zimmerman, Neal’s wife of 38 years, who passed away from cancer in June.
