Wendy Rogers, a Republican elected to the Arizona State Senate in 2023 representing the state’s 7th Senate District, published several posts on her social media account on September 14, 2025. The tweets reflect personal sentiments and commentary on military history.

In a post from early morning, Rogers wrote, “(Certainly NOT written by AI.) This was written from the very depths of our souls.” (September 14, 2025).

Later that day, she posted another message containing only emojis and a link: “” (September 14, 2025).

In a third tweet reflecting on her experience as an Air Force pilot, Rogers stated, “‘Rosy Roads’ was a very active base while I was an Air Force pilot. Its 2004, its closure was viewed as a major victory for progressive forces in Puerto Rico who had fought for years to end the Navy’s presence on Vieques. Now, a new sheriff is in town.” (September 14, 2025).

The reference to “Rosy Roads” pertains to Roosevelt Roads Naval Station in Puerto Rico. The base’s closure in 2004 followed significant local opposition to U.S. military activities on nearby Vieques Island. Progressive activists campaigned for years against the Navy’s presence due to environmental and health concerns among residents.

Rogers succeeded Theresa Hatathlie as state senator for Arizona’s 7th district following her election in 2023.
