Wendy Rogers, Arizona State Senator representing the 7th Senate District, announced on April 9, 2026, that the Arizona Legislature had advanced her bill SB1177. The legislation seeks to ban taxpayer-funded gender transitions.

In a tweet posted at 22:11 UTC, Rogers stated: “The Arizona Legislature advanced my SB1177 banning taxpayer-funded gender transitions. Protecting our kids and stopping the waste of your tax dollars.”

Later that evening, Rogers posted two additional tweets referencing national politics. At 22:43 UTC she wrote: “Hammer down Mr. President!” At 22:45 UTC she added: “All we needed was a new president.”

Rogers, a Republican elected in 2023 to replace former state senator Theresa Hatathlie, has been active in sponsoring legislation and sharing updates via social media.
