Teresa Martinez, a Republican who has represented Arizona’s 16th House District in the State House since 2023, posted several statements on her Twitter account in mid-April 2026. The tweets addressed legislative action following an incident at Phoenix Union High School District, expressed political support for a gubernatorial candidate, and included a personal remark.
On April 16, 2026, Martinez wrote: “I ran HB2370 because @phoenix_union had a kid die on their watch! to date no one knows who lowered the settings on the weapon detections system. Phx Union boards members should be ashamed of themselves! This bill is NOW LAW. No thanks to them.” In this tweet, Martinez referenced House Bill 2370 and criticized Phoenix Union board members for their handling of a fatal incident involving changes to weapon detection system settings.
The following day, April 17, she tweeted her endorsement for Andy Biggs as a gubernatorial candidate: “I think it’s time we all get behind @andybiggs4az He would make an excellent Gov!!!! https://t.co/A0yr33Raph”
On April 18, Martinez made a lighter comment directed at Andy Biggs: “I don’t know who lives here but we can absolutely be friends!!!!@andybiggs4az https://t.co/uRaODHvRww”
Martinez was elected to the Arizona State House in 2023 after replacing John Fillmore as representative for District 16.
