Teresa Martinez, a Republican elected to the Arizona State House in 2023 to represent the state’s 16th House District, expressed strong criticism on her social media account regarding recent incidents she described as disrespectful and hateful.
On September 11, 2025, Martinez wrote: “My nephew did not know Charlie or his work. But he was so disturbed by the ugliness out there!! I I told him when people show you who they are believe them. This woman’s action is HORRIBLE! The disrespect and just hatred from the left is just disgusting.”
Later that day, she continued her remarks with another post: “What is wrong with these people! So hateful” (September 11, 2025).
In a subsequent tweet posted minutes later, Martinez addressed media coverage of the incident: “This is DISGUISING! Shame on all of you @TMZ . @HarveyLevinTMZ” (September 11, 2025).
Martinez has been vocal about issues related to civility and public discourse since assuming office in Arizona’s legislature. She succeeded John Fillmore after being elected in November 2023.
