T.J. Shope, a Republican serving as the Arizona State Senator for the 16th District since 2023, has recently posted several updates on his social media account, addressing political issues and sharing personal experiences.

On March 20, 2026, Shope called upon Senators Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego to take action regarding a government shutdown, writing: “Paging @SenMarkKelly & @SenRubenGallego! Your constituents need you to step up and lead us out of this shutdown instead of playing @SenSchumer’s games!”

The following day, March 21, he commented on the NCAA basketball tournament: “While I’m currently leading the only bracket I entered (that could all change today), I really do miss the old days of nonstop buzzer-beating upsets… #MarchMadness”

On March 22, Shope shared an update about attending a local event: “Melissa and I had a great time at the Luke Air Show yesterday! Yesterday’s show included an appearance by the Navy’s Blue Angels as well as the Air Force’s Thunderbirds!”

Shope was elected to represent Arizona’s 16th Senate District in 2023, succeeding Kelly Townsend. He has used his platform to address both state-level concerns and community activities.
