T.J. Shope, Arizona State Senator representing the 16th District since 2023, posted a series of messages on his X (formerly Twitter) account between November 15 and November 17, 2025, addressing both political accountability and historical reflection.
On November 15, Shope questioned the shifting responsibility regarding an ongoing investigation. He wrote: “With all due respect, and I mean that genuinely, why did you indicate that your office was actively investigating this issue back in May 2025? I’m not trying to get in to a debate here, just trying to understand why it’s all on the Office of the Auditor General now when back in https://t.co/x8AO4uDAzm https://t.co/1tmRelx8R0”.
Two days later, on November 17, Shope highlighted the importance of understanding historical events. He stated: “Worth a follow to understand, as best we can in 2025, what happened on Dec. 7th 1941… https://t.co/1xhSNnRGHq”.
Later that same day, he expressed enthusiasm for a personal milestone or tradition with a brief post: “It’s finally my time of year!!! https://t.co/WUAcbX8cQf”.
Shope has served as a Republican member of the Arizona State Senate since being elected in 2023 to represent District 16. He succeeded Kelly Townsend in this role.
