T.J. Shope, Arizona State Senator representing the 16th District since 2023, shared a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on December 9, 2025, covering personal milestones and local events.
In a post reflecting on his social media history, Shope wrote: “I’ll be damned…Do you remember when you joined X? I do! #MyXAnniversary” (December 9, 2025).
Later that day, he acknowledged meeting with another user by posting: “Thanks for getting together while I was in town @cameron_arcand!” (December 9, 2025).
Shope also commented on law enforcement actions regarding thefts with the statement: “Arrested them and charged them the way thieves oughta be dealt with…” (December 9, 2025).
Shope is a Republican who began serving in the Arizona State Senate after being elected in 2023 to represent District 16. He succeeded Kelly Townsend in this role.
