T.J. Shope, a Republican serving as the Arizona State Senator for the 16th District since 2023, recently posted a series of messages on his social media account addressing topics ranging from government censorship to local sports.

On September 23, 2025, Shope commented on issues of censorship, writing, “So the government didn’t force him off the air…I was reasonably told that censorship was the rule of the day recently…apparently that was mistaken”.

Later in the week, on September 26, 2025, Shope expressed enthusiasm for an upcoming football event involving Arizona’s professional team: “Big time football game tonight! Let’s go @AZCardinals #BirdGang”. That same evening he also posted a brief reaction: “Ugh…”.

Shope has represented Arizona’s 16th Senate District since his election in 2023, succeeding Kelly Townsend. His recent online activity reflects both engagement with political discourse and support for local sports teams.
