The Florence County Museum is set to host an exhibition in collaboration with the Smithsonian American Art Museum. The exhibit, titled "Fighters for Freedom: William H. Johnson Picturing Justice," will be available from February 4 to August 10.

This marks the first national tour of the renowned series by William Henry Johnson, a native of Florence. Created in the mid-1940s, "Fighters for Freedom" portrays a range of historical and contemporary figures who have contributed to global freedom efforts. The exhibition consists of 25 pieces that highlight Johnson's later iconographic style.

These works are on loan from the Smithsonian American Art Museum and are seldom displayed outside Washington, D.C.
