AJUSD is set to host a crucial Social Studies Resource K-12 meeting on Thursday, May 2nd at 3:30 PM. The meeting, held at the District Office Board Room, will focus on adopting a Social Studies Resource K – 12 from the vendors that responded to the RFP 24-04-29 and evaluating the proposals.

The Apache Junction Unified School District issued RFP 24-04-29 for Social Studies Resource K – 12 on March 1, 2024, with proposals due by March 30, 2024. Four vendors, namely Britannica Education, Imagine Learning, McGraw Hill, and National Geographic, submitted their proposals for consideration.

In line with the district's objective, AJUSD aims to evaluate the vendors thoroughly. As stated by AJUSD, "The evaluators may choose to not award a vendor during the selection process and use free online resources as, outlined in ADE." The evaluation process will be conducted by a panel consisting of Meara Verna, Caylie Lavenduskey, Robyn Gonzales, Yesenia Braaksma, Teresa Edwards, Christine Jones, Jason Chavarria, Samantha Whaley, Ray Cunningham, and Ed Matlosz.

The meeting seeks to fulfill the district's Strategic Plan Goal and make an informed decision regarding the adoption of a suitable Social Studies Resource K – 12. The outcome of this evaluation process will play a significant role in shaping the educational resources available to students within the Apache Junction Unified School District.
