Enrollment Analysis: American Indian or Alaskan Native students comprised 3% of Toltec School District’s student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 34 American Indian or Alaskan Native students enrolled in Toltec School District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 5.6% less than the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Data showed that Toltec School District welcomed 1,127 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian or Alaskan Native students comprised 3% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the district.

Toltec School District roughly covers schools within Pinal County and has a main office in Eloy.

Among the two schools in Toltec School District, Toltec Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian or Alaskan Native students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 20 students.

WalletHub claimed Arizona’s school system ranked among the worst across U.S. for class size, performance, funding, safety, and instructors’ credentials.

In 2022 Arizona had roughly one teacher for every 19 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for 16 students. Teachers handling a higher number of students was found to have negative consequences for students’ school performance.
