Pinal County issued the following announcement on Sept. 23.

Starting Friday, October 1, 2021, Pinal County Air Quality will resume issuing open burning permits throughout the County.

Burn permits allow for the disposal of plant material by open burning during limited daytime hours. This year we highly recommend the online purchase of burn permits due to our satellite offices in Apache Junction and Casa Grande being temporarily closed. A limited number of appointments will be available for customers at the Florence office.

Learn more about burn permits by going to:

To apply for a burn permit online (recommended method) please click on the following link. https://citizenaccess.pinalcountyaz.gov/CitizenAccess/Default.aspx

Customers can apply 24 hours 7 days a week, however permits are only issued Monday–Friday from 8:00–4:30 and many take up to 48 hours to process.
