The bill, which now moves to the state Senate for consideration will allot $4 million to pay for the tier 2 study of the proposed project.
Apart from this, it will provide $750,000 to the county to increase the local match to acquire more than $15 million in federal grant money to develop road accessibility and infrastructure improvements which would increase accessibility around the Nikola Motor Plants.
“The North-South Corridor highway is a long-needed project serving the transportation needs in the Pinal Country and our state,” Cook said. “I appreciate the bipartisan backing of my House colleagues and hope those in the Senate will join us in supporting the bill.”
These projects according to Cook will be an "economic engine in Pinal County" and would provide well-paying employment opportunities for rural Arizona.
