Catholicism is under attack—this much is not up for debate.

Although we are in constant spiritual warfare against the devil, the sinfulness of elements within American society has never been more apparent. As Catholics, we cannot simply ignore this growing stain on our conscience. God has given us the duty and obligation to defend our families and our faith from the moral degradation spreading around us.

The fight to protect our faith isn’t always a partisan fight, but today’s Democrat Party, increasingly controlled by the radical left, is targeting the Catholic Church and Joe Biden refuses to address it. Last night’s debate revealed that he has no intention to push back.

2 Peter 3:9 reminds us that the Lord “does not wish that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” Repentance begins with fervent prayer and a confession of all that is evil in our hearts and in the culture surrounding our community. It means calling out the false testimony of the radical left and the ways our nation has strayed from the truth of God’s word. 

First, there is a dangerous branch of pro-choice advocates that have grown increasingly louder in their call to get rid of all restrictions on abortion. Led by Joe Biden’s vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris, they seek to cancel pro-life principles by espousing new gender roles for women and denying that life begins in the womb. This ideology has darkened the intellects of young people who are abandoning the notion of family at an alarming rate. 

At the same time, our churches and businesses are being physically assaulted by riots, looting, and widespread violence. It should pain all our hearts to witness law enforcement officers and sheriff’s risk their lives for our safety only to have their God-given professions come under persecution. 

As a proud Hispanic and Catholic, I issue this stern warning: We cannot elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Their platform is fundamentally antithetical to the values we cherish most: Faith, family, and opportunity. With political power, they will rob our country of true justice, subvert the dignity of life, and replace all moral institutions we know with godless government. 

If you need any proof, just look at Biden’s showing at the presidential debate this past Tuesday night. The only policies he pushed for were those that expanded the role of the federal government. It’s not like he is trying to keep this a secret.

Our faith is on the ballot this November. President Donald Trump’s continued leadership is critical if we want to recognize our country in four years. He has not only signed legislation to defund the abortion industry, but also appointed more than 200 federal judges who will defend life in the courts. He has stood by our police officers and openly condemned the violence in our streets. Biden and Harris are not merely bystanders – they are perpetrators.  

The evils of liberalism have never been more pervasive and destructive. More than ever, the Catholic community needs a pro-life, pro-family leader who will safeguard our religious liberty. With President Trump in the White House, Catholicism will never be cancelled.
