The Pinal County Recorder's Office addressed the issue of voters receiving ballots riddled with errors ahead of the August primary elections.
“We are working closely with the Secretary of State's office and other agencies to pinpoint the exact cause, which left some voters with incorrect ballot styles,” officials said on the office’s website.
ABC 15 reported that residents in Queen Creek and Maricopa complained of ballots missing several candidates’ names or even an entire contest.
“I think this is horrible,” Nancie Naylor told the station. “I'm not even sure how this is going to get resolved. Intentional or not, it's almost like censorship.”
The recorder’s office vows to correct the issue.
“Our voters are our top priority, and our community can rest assured that staff is working diligently to identify voters with affected ballots, with the intention to reissue ballots as soon as possible,” it said on its site.
Voters are urged to review their ballots and report any concerns by calling 520-866-6854.
