MOUNTAIN VIEW LUTHERAN CHURCH: The words of the LORD are flawless.

Mass

Mountain View Lutheran Church issued the following announcement on May 14

The truth shall set you free. But what is truth? In our world today it becomes very obvious that truth is hard to come by. Everyone lies to his neighbor. So who can we trust? The Media, The Government, Teachers, Family, Friends? Where does truth lie? If we cannot trust anyone in this life can we trust God? Or do we see the religions of the world each saying they have the truth so maybe they are all wrong. Can truth be found in man?

We live in a world where absolutes are hard to find but there still are a few commonly held truths. We will all die. Gravity works. The sun rises and sets. The Vikings are the best NFL team in the league. I put that in just to see if you were reading my devotions.

We have a God who is the way, the truth and the life. He and his word are the source of truth for our lives. When put our trust in him we will never be disappointed. He is a faithful God who keeps his covenant of love. He promised Adam and Eve that he would send a Savior for all of mankind and he did! Jesus came born of a woman, born under the Law to redeem us who were under the Law that we might be sons and daughters of the king.

Here is the truth! God so loved you and me that he gave his one and only son to suffer die and rise again in victory that whosoever believes in him shall not perish eternally in hell but shall have eternal life with him in heaven. Believe this words my friend and cast all your cares upon him for he cares for you.

Psalm 12:1-8 For the director of music. According to sheminith. A psalm of David. Help, LORD, for the godly are no more; the faithful have vanished from among men. 2 Everyone lies to his neighbor; their flattering lips speak with deception. 3 May the LORD cut off all flattering lips and every boastful tongue 4 that says, "We will triumph with our tongues; we own our lips--who is our master?" 5 "Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I will now arise," says the LORD. "I will protect them from those who malign them." 6 And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times. 7 O LORD, you will keep us safe and protect us from such people forever. 8 The wicked freely strut about when what is vile is honored among men.
