In Casa Grande, buying and selling homes seems to be easier than expected during the coronavirus pandemic, according to Casa Grande homeowners.

"It was a pretty smooth process," Nichole Kluth told Casa Grande Dispatch. Kluth recently sold her home in town and bought a new one as well and said the process was similar to what it would be outside of the pandemic.

In February, Kluth and her family put their house on the market. The family wanted to downsize and use the extra money to start an art school, she told Casa Grande Dispatch.

The family toured houses online and were able to tour them in-person if they were interested in buying them too, Kluth said.

“We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted,” she told Casa Grande Dispatch.

When touring houses in-person, Kluth said the real estate agent would wear gloves and a mask and the family would be sure not to touch anything in the house, according to Casa Grande Dispatch. If a door was shut, Kluth would ask the agent to open it for her.

She also said she wasn't afraid of showing her house. Open houses were done virtually and in-person tours were by appointment only, Kluth told Casa Grande Dispatch. Before an in-person showing, the family would make sure to clean any surfaces in the house and tidy up.

After a few showings, one family put an offer down on their house, Kluth said.

“It’s still a really good market,” Kluth told Casa Grande Dispatch. “Buyers can really negotiate for a price. There’s nothing to be fearful about.”

Kluth isn't the only one who thinks the market is good right now.

Gerald and Pat Holloway have said the market is Casa Grande is really good.

“We sold our home about six weeks ago and got about $25,000 more than we were asking,” Gerald Holloway told Casa Grande Dispatch. The Holloways said there were multiple offers on their home within the first couple days of it being on the market.

Not only were they able to quickly and easily sell and buy a house, but the Holloways bought a house for cheaper in Casa Grande. They also said they have seen a lot of housing growth within the first few weeks they've been in the area.
