In the last year, 83,000 people have moved into Arizona from other parts of the country, many of them citing the more favorable tax policies as a major reason for their decision to relocate. In fact, Arizona is second only to Florida for domestic migration.
The publication looked at the total sales, income and property taxes paid in each of the 30 largest Arizona cities and ranked them. These rankings are based on a couple with a home worth $250,000 and an income of $61,000.
The most expensive is Marana, where its 41,000 residents can expect to pay $4,600 in taxes every year. Most of that is due to property taxes, along with the 10 percent charged on utilities and communications services like phone and TV service.
The most affordable is Sun City, where the same couple would pay about $2,800 in local taxes.
