South Carolina Chamber CEO Mike Brenan retires after leading transition

Mike Brenan, President and CEO of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce (SC Chamber), has retired as of October 30, 2025. The announcement comes after Brenan served for 16 months in the role, during which he led the organization through a period of transition.

Brenan had previously retired from his position as Regional President for Truist Bank’s South Carolina Region in 2023 before returning to lead the SC Chamber. His tenure at the chamber is noted for bringing stability and setting up long-term plans for growth. The organization credits him with strengthening advocacy efforts, improving engagement among members, and building partnerships across South Carolina.

Upon his retirement, Brenan was given the title of Chair Emeritus. The SC Chamber highlighted his steady leadership and collaborative style as key factors in its recent progress.
