The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce (SC Chamber) and the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance (SCMA) have announced their decision to merge, forming a new advocacy group called South Carolina Manufacturers and Commerce (SCMC). This merger will officially take effect on January 1, 2026.

According to both organizations, the creation of SCMC will bring together their resources, leadership, and membership. The aim is to strengthen the voice of the business community throughout South Carolina and increase its influence in state affairs. The combined organization is expected to be one of the largest advocacy groups in the state’s history.

Leaders from both entities emphasized that merging will help expand their presence in Columbia and align goals across different sectors. The new organization plans to represent businesses with a unified approach statewide.
