Many small businesses are facing challenges this holiday season due to higher operating costs, supply chain issues, and market uncertainty. Unlike larger companies, small businesses often do not have the financial resources or flexibility to handle these pressures easily.

According to the American Independent Business Alliance, locally owned small businesses contribute significantly more to the local economy than chain stores. Independent shops return about 48 percent of their revenue back into the community, while chains return only 14 percent.

The public is encouraged to support local businesses during the holiday shopping period as a way to help strengthen the community and its economy.
