Rep. Eli Crane, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted a series of statements on social media addressing artificial intelligence and expressing gratitude toward former President Trump.

On September 17, 2025, Crane shared his views about technological disruption in the workforce. In a post at 20:59 UTC, he stated: “While AI presents new opportunities, we must always prioritize the interests of the American people.

As we’ve seen in industries such as mining, job transitions are never as simple as advertised.

Large-scale disruptions have real consequences. We can’t afford to ignore them.”

Earlier that day at 20:46 UTC, Crane endorsed another statement by posting: “This is spot on.”

The following day, on September 18 at 00:34 UTC, he wrote: “Thank you, President Trump.”

Crane’s remarks come amid ongoing national discussions about the impact of artificial intelligence on employment and economic stability. His reference to job transitions in mining highlights concerns that have been echoed in other sectors facing automation and technological change.

Born in Tucson in 1980 and currently residing in Oro Valley, Eli Crane succeeded Tom O’Halleran as representative for Arizona’s 2nd district beginning in 2023.
