Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted a series of critical tweets on December 5, 2025, addressing issues related to fraud and the performance of FBI Director Christopher Wray.

In his first tweet at 13:22 UTC, Crane stated, “While comfortably generating over a BILLION in fraud…”.

Later that day at 15:12 UTC, he followed up with another brief post: “Shocker…”.

At 16:17 UTC, Crane questioned the actions of FBI Director Christopher Wray by tweeting, “Christopher Wray either oversaw a historic failure or a historic cover up. Which do you think it is?”

Crane’s remarks come amid ongoing public scrutiny regarding federal oversight and accountability. Eli Crane has represented Arizona’s 2nd District in Congress since defeating Tom O’Halleran in the 2022 election and assuming office in 2023. Born in Tucson in 1980, Crane currently resides in Oro Valley.
