Rep. Eli Crane, a U.S. Congressman representing Arizona’s 2nd district since 2023, posted several statements on his social media account addressing recent legislative actions and the impending federal government shutdown.

On September 30, 2025, Crane wrote, “Proud to be a cosponsor.” On October 1, 2025, he followed up with another post: “Not their first time. Won’t be their last time. America last.” Later that day, he added: “Chuck Schumer, Mark Kelly, and Ruben Gallego are needlessly shutting down the federal government at midnight. My offices will continue to operate as usual for as long as this shutdown lasts. We never stop working for #AZ02.”

Crane’s remarks refer to the ongoing budget negotiations in Congress and his criticism of Senate leaders Chuck Schumer and Arizona Senators Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego regarding the government funding impasse.

Eli Crane was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley. He succeeded Tom O’Halleran as representative of Arizona’s 2nd congressional district after the 2022 election cycle. As an active member of Congress since January 2023, Crane frequently comments on national policy issues affecting both his district and broader federal operations.
